Blackbutt Singers plan out 35th year

The Blackbutt Singers Executive met on Monday, 12 January to consolidate their plans for this 35th year of entertaining the public.

The choir’s rehearsals will start again on Tuesday, 3 February (though a number of the choir members have returned early to present an Australia Day Celebration Concert at Karinya nursing home in Nanango.)

During the year we will visit each of the nursing homes in the South Burnett but our main thoughts at the meeting turned to our 35th Anniversary Concert to be held in October, where we have invited choirs to join us in our celebrations.

It will be held at the Blackbutt Hall on 25 October which, although 9 months away, hiring of sound, catering, buying music and more still needs to be guaranteed now, and as all not-for-profit societies will agree application for grants help ensure events like this happens.

So there is hard work ahead both administratively and rehearsals, but the pleasure comes when we see the pleasure we bring to our audiences!
