This weekend head on over to Mount Perry to visit ‘Bloketopia’.
The Mount Perry Art Gallery will be hosting an exhibition by ‘The Men of Mount Perry -Crafting a Legacy’ this month.
The collection has been fondly nicknamed ‘Bloketopia’, and will celebrate the talents and handiworks of the North Burnett town’s menfolk.
The exhibition will feature woodworks, works in metal, mechanical gizmos, restorative powers, furnishing and photography.
“There is so much talent to be found, hidden away amongst Mount Perry’s Menfolk,” the Mount Perry Arts Group stated.
“From woodworking, carpentry and metalwork to photography and the arts, Mount Perry can boast its fair share of natty, ingenious and creative blokes.”
The exhibition includes, but is not limited to, works done by the Mount Perry Men’s Shed members.
Contributions were gleaned by searching through the Mount Perry community, to find original, handcrafted works created by all sorts of talented local fellows.
The exhibition’s official opening at the Shelley Kelly Gallery at the Pat Augustine Cultural Centre at 58 Heusman Street Mount Perry will take place this Saturday, 7 February at 2pm complete with free light refreshments and drinks.
