Cherbourg centre trashed in break, enter

Break-and-enter offenders were scared off by an audible alarm after making a mess in a Cherbourg community centre.

Queensland Police reported that the offence occurred at the Barambah Avenue centre sometime between 4pm on Thursday, 31 October and 8am on Friday, 1 November.

Police are now seeking public assistance to identify the offenders.

The police will allege that the unknown offenders used a rock to smash the glass door to the rear entry of the building, causing the glass to break.

These offenders then allegedly reached through the broken door and unlocked the door to gain entry to the shop area.

Police further allege that these offenders then threw a rock behind the counter, threw items around and left a mess on the floor before they were spooked by an audible alarm.

These offenders exited the building through the same way they came in.

Anyone with information about the incident are urged to contact police via Policelink on 131 444 or to report anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote the following reference number: QP2401874630
