Kids make their own holiday cheer

The North Burnett’s young creatives got the chance to have their artwork featured on Mum and Dad’s Christmas tree at an exciting ornament-making workshop in Mundubbera.

The event was hosted by locals Susie Capewell and Rachel Koster, working together as the community art enterprise BravARTo as part of Mundubbera’s Christmas pop-up shop event, and allowed the group of little artists and designers to make their very own festive decorations in time for the season.

Children had the choice of several different templates to follow along, or let their creativity run wild and make their own ornaments from scratch using wood or cardboard, glue, buttons and sequins.

“We’ve done workshops like this for years now, and they are always a hit with the kids,” BravARTo team member and local artist Susie Capewell said.

The BravARTo team said they will continue to offer further art workshops in the new year.
