At least 60 people tapped their toes to German music and raised their beer steins to celebrate Oktoberfest in Kumbia last Friday night.

The gathering in the Kumbia Memorial Hall enjoyed traditional German sausages with potato bake, mustard and sauerkraut, followed by apple strudel and ice-cream.

German music, quizzes, raffles and an energetic performance of the Chicken Dance rounded off a great community get-together.

The evening was the latest in the Cheap as Chips community events, an initiative by the Kumbia and District Memorial Hall Committee to encourage local residents to enjoy their beautiful hall.

The next Cheap as Chips night will be held at the hall on Australia Day, 26 January 2022, featuring classical Aussie tucker, music and much more. Cost is just $10 per person. For bookings, please contact Linda on 0428 447 581.
