Heavy rainfall and flooding has been experienced across the Burnett over the last few days.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts the rain event will continue for the Wide Bay and Burnett on Monday afternoon and evening, with locally intense falls possible.
“Heavy rainfall continues across south-east Queensland today, but it’s likely to ease overnight tonight and into early Tuesday morning,” Meteorologist Miriam Bradbury said.
Most of the heavier rainfall totals have been focussed across the Wide Bay and Burnett areas, causing flash flooding risks on Monday.
“The wet weather is continuing to be driven by a low pressure trough, and the remnants of a tropical low moving over the area,” Ms Bradbury said.
However, by Tuesday rainfalls are expected to ease off, with riverine flooding expected to continue over the next few days.
