For the second year in a row, the Kumbia Race Club will be raising funds for a worthy cause at their annual Melbourne Cup meet.

Next Tuesday punters will gather at the local course for an afternoon of fun, including a five-race program.

The ’Flemington of the bush’ was able to get the green light to go ahead this year after many events being cancelled in the Burnett due to Covid-19.

With ’A Dash of Pink’ as this year’s theme, racegoers will be helping to raise money for the McGrath Foundation and local breast cancer nurses who directly support those affected in the region.

The ‘Fashions on the Field’ will include a number of categories, including Most Stylish of the Day – 45 years and over and under 45 years, Best Dressed Man, and Best Headwear.

It’s a gold coin donation to enter and registrations are preferable before the race day. Those who wish to enter should text their name and the class they wish to enter to Myolene on 0407 645 574.

On the day registrations will close at 1.55pm and will be taken at a table beside the stage.

There will also be Dash for Cash foot races, a bar, barbecue, wine and cheese.

Entry is $11. To purchase a ticket, search in trybooking – ’Kumbia Races Melbourne Cup Day 2020’.
