The North Burnett Local Disaster Management Group stood up on Thursday, 2 December to assist the community in emergency resupply.

Recent river rises have seen some residents unable to stock up on essential supplies for an extended amount of time.

The North Burnett Regional Council advised the river levels were expected to slightly increase and peak across the catchment over coming days which will limit some rural residents ability to source essential supplies.

The Bureau of Meteorology predictions indicate river levels at Mundubbera and Gayndah to stay between minor and moderate levels as the recent rainfall makes its way down the catchment.

The council will continue to monitor conditions in the catchment.

At this point in time we do not expect any homes to be affected, however, it’s a timely reminder to check your ‘what if plan’ at: www.getready.qld.gov.au

Residents are encouraged to start preparing an emergency kit containing sufficient food, water and clothing to support you and your family during times of emergency and isolation.

They are reminded to check the Emergency Dashboard for river heights, rainfall data, road closures, weather warnings and more: https://bit.ly/3dhyc69
