Burnett swimmers were among the place-getters at the 2021 McDonald’s Queensland swimming Championships in Brisbane, helping the Wide Bay Regional Swimming Association reach several first-, second- and third-place medals.

The Wide Bay club earned a total of six podium finishes, making the cut in a variety of relay events.

Gayndah swimmer Declan Eskdale attended the Championships under the Wide Bay club’s banner, reaching fourth place in both a 200 metre freestyle and medley relay event.

The club reached out to its supporters on Facebook after the Championships wrapped up, thanking all those involved for their contributions.

“Region Relays were a smashing success!” a spokesperson for the club wrote.

“Regardless of results everyone who participated can hold their head high. The determination and effort shown by all our teams was tremendous.

“Thank you to everyone involved! Swimmers, Parents, Team Managers & especially our Coaches,” they added.
