A man in his 50’s is being airlifted to hospital after rolling over in a cattle truck at Moore this morning.

Queensland Fire Department, Ambulance Service and Police Service crews were called out to the D’Aguilar Highway at Moore near Possum Bush Road at around 10.25am on Wednesday, 24 July.

First responders reported a cattle truck had rolled over and come to rest on its side.

A QFD spokesperson confirmed the truck’s sole occupant, a male in his 50’s, was not trapped in the crash.

QAS paramedics assessed the man for a head injury and tasked a rescue helicopter to the scene.

A spokesperson for the QAS said they believe a medical episode may have been the cause of the rollover.

QPS officers have locked down the D’Aguilar Highway following the crash, with drivers unable to access the Blackbutt Range westbound or get into Moore from the South Burnett via the road.

A QPS spokesperson added Somerset Regional Council crews were also on scene to help with diverting traffic, but council was unable to comment on their involvement.

None of the first responder organisations could confirm the fate of the cattle which were being transported by the now-crashed truck, but an eyewitness to the aftermath of the rollover said a number of animals were lying dead by the roadside.

Motorists traveling the D’Aguilar Highway are advised to seek alternative routes.
