Bush search for Pheobe scales back

The search for missing girl Pheobe Bishop continues, with a focus on the greater Gin Gin area.

Queensland Police advised on Wednesday, 28 May that the search for the 17-year-old Bundaberg girl at the Good Night Scrub National Park area had been suspended.

Police assured that investigations were ongoing, and officers were continuing to run out several lines of enquiry.

Police advised that physical searches will be conducted as needed and as information is provided.

The police spokesperson reported that the “greater Gin Gin area” would remain the focus of the investigation.

Anyone with information, vision or sightings of a grey Hyundai ix35 between 15 to 18 May in the greater Gin Gin area are urged to contact police.

The search of the Good Night Scrub National Park was conducted between 23 and 27 May, and involved specialist police, the dog squad, dive squad, SES and aerial assets.

The police reported that some items which are believed to be linked to the investigation had been located during the search and were seized for forensic examination.

The officers also reported that recent investigations showed some evidence may have been moved from the Good Night Scrub area, prior to police arrival.

Phoebe, who had been living in Gin Gin and did not catch her flight at the Bundaberg Airport, has not been seen or heard from since 15 May.

She is described as approximately 180cm, pale complexion, long dyed red hair, and hazel eyes.
