Creatives gain ‘sense of place’

‘A Sense of Place’ has been explored among Mundubbera creatives.

Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery is currently hosting a sculpture and photography exhibition titled ‘Sense of Place’.

Two workshops of the same name were held concurrently on Saturday, 24 May at the gallery.

Photographer Kim Anderson held a photography workshop where three participants Sandie, Lorraine and Kirsten learned various techniques, including ICM -intentional camera movement.

Kim’s exhibiting work displays these minimal compositions, long exposures and ICM techniques.

Alongside Kim’s photography at the Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery, hangs the collage works of her mother-in-law Rosemary Anderson.

Mundubbera creatives also got a little crafty with a special collage workshop.

Tutor Rosemary Anderson led the workshop participants through the steps on Saturday, 24 May.

Each piece was very individual, and each participant were encouraged to depict a meaningful personal place in their collage.

The participants were guided in a colour pouring technique for the base. Participants then created a collage of their special place over this base.

A representative from the Munduberra Regional Art Gallery, who hosted the art workshop, said the results were “magnificent”.

The Sense of Place exhibition will be on display from 17 May to 30 August at the Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery.
