Council invites local dealers to support the SES vehicle grant application

South Burnett Regional Council is inviting expressions of interest from local vehicle dealerships for the supply and delivery of a dual cab 4×4 utility, as part of its application for the 2026–27 State Emergency Service (SES) Support Grant.

The SES Support Grant enables local governments across Queensland to secure funding for the acquisition of new or second-hand vehicles, helping to replace aging assets within SES groups and units.

Council’s application seeks funding for one dual cab 4×4 utility to enhance the operational capacity of local SES personnel.

If the grant application is successful, Council will initiate a formal Request for Quote (RFQ) process for the procurement of the vehicle.

The RFQ is expected to be released in July 2026 and will outline final specifications and procurement requirements.

The SES Support Grant provides councils across Queensland with a vital opportunity to upgrade essential equipment and ensure local emergency services are well-equipped to respond to natural disasters, search and rescue missions, and community call-outs.

By sourcing vehicles locally, Council also aims to support regional businesses and strengthen ties between emergency services and the community.

Council is encouraging local dealerships to express their interest by submitting indicative pricing and supply details to support the grant application.

This preliminary process is intended to demonstrate market readiness and local supplier capability as part of the funding submission.

Interested parties are invited to contact Council for further information by phoning (07) 4189 9100 or emailing info@sbrc.qld.gov.au
