Creatives hit record sales

The mother-and-daughter team behind Nanango’s Handmade Markets celebrated record sales and a charitable donation.

The talents of local creatives have been showcased at the Nanango Handmade Christmas Market on 15 and 16 November, with the event bringing in record sales and large crowds.

Founded by mother/daughter team Tammy and Lani Greenslade, the fifth Nanango Handmade Market and the second annual Christmas event was held at Nanango Cultural Centre, with close to 50 South Burnett stallholders, bringing in more than $42,800 in sales across the weekend.

With a percentage of sales set aside for charity as well as raffles and donations on site, the success of the market includes a donation of $7000 to a cause close to hearts of the event organisers; McGrath Foundation South Burnett Breast Care Nurse services.

The Nanango Handmade Market has seen incredible growth since Tammy and Lani debuted the event in November 2024 at Ringsfield House, with overall sales doubling and highly in-demand places for stallholders selling everything from pottery and ceramics, woodwork, glasswork, visual art, clothing and textiles, candles, food, jewellery and home decor – each item created and handmade by South Burnett

residents.

“We took the opportunity to bring like-minded people creating different handmade items together in one place, support charities doing it tough in our community and give local people a chance to buy something

unique and special, while keeping that money in the South Burnett,” Lani said. “We hope to see the success of this market repeated in future and to have an event that everyone puts on their calendar each year as a must for local Christmas shopping.”

The Nanango Handmade Market is a volunteer run event, hosted by Nanango Tourism and Development Association and supported by Kingaroy Country Women’s Association.

The next Nanango Handmade Market will be held at Ringsfield House on March 14.
