Council sets 2026 meeting dates

The North Burnett Regional Council has published the dates and locations for its monthly general meetings throughout 2026.

Council added its 2026 dates to its website on Thursday, 8 January, with 12 gatherings set to take place throughout the region’s six main towns.

At the meetings, councillors discuss planning matters, receive reports on business decisions from senior staff in council, and vote on the local government organisation’s next steps.

Council also discusses its budget for the year at one of the meetings, and allows members of the public to give deputations to the chamber with prior authorisation.

In an attempt to allow as many locals as possible to attend the gatherings, the North Burnett Regional Council hosts each of its monthly meetings in one of six towns on a rotational basis: Gayndah, Mundubbera, Biggenden, Eidsvold, Mount Perry and Monto.

Council also livestreams the meetings through Microsoft Teams but is unable to record footage of the events for later viewing, meaning interested parties must either attend on the day or request permission to access the stream ahead of time.

Each of the regular 12 meetings will take place on a Wednesday, typically the last one of the month.

Council may also announce additional ‘special meetings’ to discuss crucial reports or matters on a case-by-case basis.

Council’s 2026 meetings will be on the following days at 9am:

• 28 January – 36 Moreton Street, Eidsvold

• 25 February – 50 Newton Street, Monto

• 25 March – 66 Heusman Street, Mount Perry

• 29 April – 47 Edward Street, Biggenden

• 27 May – 30 Lyons Street, Mundubbera

• 24 June – 2 John Taylors Road, Gayndah

• 29 July – 36 Moreton Street, Eidsvold

• 26 August – 50 Newton Street, Monto

• 30 September – 66 Heusman Street, Mount Perry

• 28 October – 47 Edward Street, Biggenden

• 25 November – 30 Lyons Street, Mundubbera

• 16 December – 2 John Taylors Road, Gayndah

Note: The Gayndah meetings’ usual location of 34-36 Capper Street became unavailable in early November 2025 when a car crashed into the building. Council has begun planning the building’s repair but believes the site will not reopen until at least September 2026. As such, the location for the Gayndah meetings may change at a later date.
