The musical memories that were created for a legion of fans across Australia by the legendary Chad Morgan will be revived in Childers on Valentines Day with a special low key performance for fans and friends.
Remembering Chad is a tribute get together organised by Chad Morgan Jnr and a few musical mates to commemorate the first anniversary of Chad’s passing on New Year’s Day 2025 and what would have been his 93rd birthday on 11 February.
“Chad Jnr is extremely proud of the role his father played in the development of country music in Australia,” said Wayne Heidrich who owns the building in Childers where two tribute rooms full of Chad Morgan memorabilia are displayed.
“The Chad Room is located in Books@Childers, a second-hand book store operated by Dr Murray Johnson and his wife Marie who informs visitors of the story behind The Chad Room.
‘Young Chad has provided an immense amount of that memorabilia from gold records, a famous hat complete with oversized safety pin, performance suits and an incredible amount of photos. The display has attracted upwards of 7000 visitors since its opening in August 2024.
“The musical tribute will be held on land immediately behind The Chad Room and accessible from Macrossan Street. Chad Morgan fans are welcome to stop by to share the occasion.”
Remembering Chad will commence at around noon on Saturday, 14 February. Anyone attending should bring a chair.
