The Gambling Community Benefit Fund has reached Round 124, and continues to deliver for the community.
Wondai’s very own Crow FM was announced to have successfully secured a grant worth $53,140 through Round 124, and were congratulated on their success by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington.
This funding will allow Crow FM to install a standalone solar and battery system – a significant upgrade that will reduce operating costs, improve energy, and ensure the station can remain on air during power outages and emergencies.
Local radio plays a critical role in regional Queensland, especially during severe weather, natural disasters and unexpected events.
Crow FM and similar stations provide timely updates, localised information and a trusted voice that helps keep people safe.
The investment of the battery system strengthens that capability, giving the community greater security and confidence that essential information will remain accessible when it matters most.
“The Crisafulli Government is supporting community organisations like CROW FM 90.7 to upgrade their facilities and continue delivering essential local services,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“Access to reliable local media is vital for regional communities, particularly in times of crisis.”
Mrs Frecklington said it was a pleasure to personally congratulate Rowena and her team, and to thank the members of Crow FM for the outstanding work they do for the South Burnett and broader community.
“Their dedication ensures our region remains informed, supported and connected everyday,” she said.
The Crisafulli Government remains committed to backing the community organisations that keep regional Queensland connected, informed and resilient.
