Relay For Life will very soon have its official launch. On Friday 3 June, Relay for Life’s iconic “Community Charity Breakfast” will be hosted by the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Kingaroy RSL.
Arriving at 6.30am for a 6.45am start, the event will host a panel of community survivors, whose stories will resonate with other survivors, those currently battling cancer and the families of loved ones who have suffered at the hands of this disease.
Patron for Relay, Carl Rackemann said, “We are thrilled the KCCI reached out to us to offer support and help us with the organising and planning of the charity breakfast.”
“We have some additional exciting news to share with the community. This includes naming the Face of Relay for 2022, Ride for Relay update, a new inaugural “Cricket for Life” event in the South Burnett with special guests, and an update on the planning for this year’s “Dinner with the Captains.”
Relay For Life has become the largest fundraising event for cancer in the world, celebrated by more than 4 million people in over 20 countries.
The South Burnett Relay for Life fundraising goal for 2022 is $114,000.
Every dollar raised goes towards funding the Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention, and support programs, many of which help people in the South Burnett community every day.
Through support from events like Relay for Life, more than 61,000 Australian lives have been saved over the last 20 years.
Improvements in cancer prevention and screening and advances in cancer treatments are only possible through the support of local fundraisers.
Tickets for the breakfast fundraiser are $35 per person, which includes a hot breakfast with tea/coffee/juice, dietary options, a donation to the South Burnett Relay for Life fundraiser, and an online ticketing processing fee.
